Schaakbord tekenen - deel 2: omzetten van de tabel naar een afbeelding en verder opmaken

Om van de tabel een echt schaakbord te maken gaan we de tabel omvormen tot een afbeelding en die verder opmaken.

Selecteer je tabel, klik op de knop Kopiëren op het tabblad Start. Klik op de knop Plakken, kies Plakken speciaal, selecteer Afbeelding (enhanced Metabestand).

De tabel is nu omgezet in een afbeelding. Meteen zie je rechtsboven de nieuwe contextuele tab verschijnen 'Hulpmiddelen voor afbeeldingen'.

Klik op het tabblad 'Opmaak' en selecteer in de groep 'Afbeeldingsstijlen' het dialoogstarter knopje. In het dialoogvenster 'Afbeelding opmaken' klik je op Opvulling, je selecteert het keuzerondje 'Opvulling met figuur of bitmappatroon'. Klik op het knopje 'Bitmappatroon' en selecteer een geschikte vulling, hier heb ik het allereerste pictogram gekozen nl. papyrus.

In de groep 'Afbeeldingsstijlen' - knop 'Afbeeldingseffecten' - 'Schuine rand' - kies je het laatste pictogram van rij 1 'Gave helling'.

Klik opnieuw op de knop Afbeeldingseffecten en kies deze keer voor 3D-draaiing. Onder de rubriek Perspectief kies je het tweede icoontje van rij 2. Perspectief ongeforceerd gemiddeld.

Ten slotte kies je opnieuw '3D-draaiing' en onderaan 'Opties voor 3D-draaiing'. Pas de rotatie aan met de verschillende opties tot je het gewenste resultaat bekomt.

Je schaakbord zou er nu zo moeten uitzien:

In order to be able to format the checkerboard further we will turn the table into a graphic.
Select your table - hit the copy button on the Start tab - click Paste button - Paste special - choose Picture enhanced metafile.

Now your table has been transformed into a graphic. See the contextual tab that has changed to Picture tools in stead of Table tools.

In the Picture styles group click the dialogstarter arrow, in the dialog 'Format picture' choose Fill, check radio button next to picture or bitmap fill, click on the bitmap pattern button, choose a suitable fill, here I have chosen the first pattern, papyrus.

In the Picture styles group click the Picture effects button. Choose bevel and select the last icon of the first row:

Now click the Picture effects button again and choose 3D-rotation, under Perspective, click on the second icon from row 2.

Finally click on 3D-rotation again and choose 3D-rotation options at the bottom. Adjust your checkerboard rotation as needed using the different tools.

Your checkerboard should now look like this:

1. Tabblad Invoegen - Tabel - sleep 8 bij 8 (je zou nu een tabel moeten bekomen met de volgende afmetingen:
   breedte = 16.93 cm hoogte = 8,24 cm
2. Tabblad Ontwerpen - groep Stijlen voor Tabellen - kies geen stijl, tabelraster (eerste optie, tweede rij).
3. Tabblad Indeling - groep tabelgrootte - naast hoogte stel je in 18 cm - naast breedte stel je in 18 cm.
4. Selecteer de tweede cel van de eerste rij - tabblad Ontwerpen - Groep Stijlen voor Tabellen - Arcering - Meer opvulkleuren - kies zwart - OK.
5. Selecteer nu iedere cel die een zwarte arcering moet krijgen en druk F4. Herhaal voor alle andere rijen ofwel startend met de eerste of de tweede cel.
6. Selecteer de tabel - tabblad Ontwerpen - groep randen - naast pendikte kies je 6pt. in de groep stijlen voor tabellen - knopje randen - kies buitenrand.
7. Dit alles geeft je het volgende resultaat.

In de volgende bijdrage gaan wij de opmaak en uitzicht van de tabel aanpassen. Daarbij maken we gebruik van de nieuwe grafische mogelijkheden van PPT 2007.

1. Insert tab - Table - 8 by 8 (you should get the following table:
   width = 6.67" height = 3.24"
2. Design tab - Table styles group - Choose No style, table grid (first thumbnail, second row).
3. Contextual tab Layout - Table size group - Next to height put 7" - Next to width put 7".
4. Select the second cell of the first row, Design tab - Table styles group - Shading - More colors - choose black - OK.
5. Now select every cell that needs to be black and press F4. Repeat for the next rows, alternatively starting with the second or first cell.
6. Select the table - Design tab - Draw borders group - next to pen weight, choose 6 pt. In the table styles group - click Border - choose outside border.

That should give you the following table:

in PPT 2007.

Not long ago someone asked me if it was possible to draw a checkerboard in PowerPoint. He was not satisfied with the pictures he found on the internet.

Well it's not all that difficult. You can draw your own checkerboard in PPT in a few steps. And make use of the latest tools PPT 2007 provides.
