How can I leave the last slide showing?

For PowerPoint 2002/2003

With the last slide selected, go to the slide transition task pane, at the bottom of the pane, uncheck 'Automatically after' and 'On mouse click'. This will leave you with no means of ending the show except by pressing escape. This does not work if you use your keyboard (arrows/page down) only when you use the mouse.

This method has one drawback though, upon unchecking the 'On mouse click', animations which operate with a click on that slide will not work. You can get passed that by formatting those animations with or after previous (top of the taskpane). Or by using the keyboard to operate the animations.

If you really want to keep the animations with a click, you can duplicate the last slide and remove all animations on the duplicate. Once you leave the last but one slide with a click the duplicate will appear, which will remain on the screen until you press escape.

For PowerPoint 2007

With the last slide selected, go to the 'Animations' tab on the ribbon, in the
'Transition to this slide' group, uncheck 'on mouse click' and uncheck the automatically after option so that the transition will not occur.

For PowerPoint 2010-2013-2016-2019

With the last slide selected, Go to the 'Transitions' tab on the ribbon, In the 'Timing' group, uncheck 'On mouse click and uncheck 'After' option so that the transition will not occur.

For these last versions, you also need to disable the End with a black slide option which is on by default. Go to File - Options - Advanced - Slide show - End with black slide.

Hier is het antwoord:

PPT 2002/2003

Selecteer de laatste dia, activeer het taakvenster Diaovergang. Onderaan het venster haal je de vinkjes weg bij Bij muisklik en bij Automatisch na. Hou hier wel rekening met het feit dat eventuele animaties die op deze slide via een muisklik worden uitgevoerd niet zullen werken door te klikken met de muis. Dit probleem kan je oplossen door de animaties hetzij met vorige of na vorige in te stellen of met het toetsenbord te werken. 

Een tweede meer elegante oplossing bestaat erin de laatste dia te kopiëren. Op de nieuwe laatste dia kan je dan met een gerust geweten alle animatie verwijderen en de opties hierboven vermeld uitvinken. Om de presentatie toch te beëindigen druk je op de toets Escape.

Deze oplossingen werken alleen als je met de muis werkt. Werk je met het toetsenbod (pijltjes, page down...) dan werkt dit niet.

PowerPoint 2007

Met de laatste dia geselecteerd, klik op het tabblad 'Animaties' op het lint. In de groep 'Overgang naar deze dia' haal je het vinkje weg bij 'Automatisch na' en bij 'Bij muisklik'.

PowerPoint 2010-2013-2016-2019

Met de laatste dia geselecteerd, klik op het tabblad Overgangen op het lint. in de groep Tijdsinstellingen  haal je het vinkje weg bij 'Automatisch na' en bij 'Bij muisklik'.

Het is ook aan te raden dat je de optie 'Eindigen met zwarte dia' (staat standaard aan) uitzet in de opties van PPT. Ga daarvoor naar Bestand - Opties - Geavanceerd - Diavoorstelling - Eindigen met zwarte dia.
