Add your video and make it play automatically. You can do this by clicking the Playback tab under Video tools. In the Video options group choose Automatically next to the Start option.
To advance to the next slide without clicking (bearing in mind that the video is the only animation on the slide) you have to choose the Transitions tab and set a timing in the Timings group, check the After box and add a transition time.
You might think that the transition time should be at least equal to the duration of the video, but this is not the case. The auto transition function has no priority over the video playback. In other words, PPT waits until the video is over before navigating to the next slide.
So set a timing of a few seconds to obtain the automatic transition.
Ah! So glad to have figured this out...props to you, Mr. Luc!
BeantwoordenVerwijderennot working it just stops
BeantwoordenVerwijderenJust tested again, still works as described. Can you provide a link to your presentation so that we could have a look? And are you by any chance pausing the video in any way by clicking on the progress bar?

Have a pptx with presenter commenting on every slide, sometimes a minute, sometimes more. Setting the advance slide to 2 seconds results in only 2 seconds of each video being shown before next slide. Not using PP 2013 though.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenTested with PPT 2019, no problem. Do not know what's happening at your end
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHad this same problem. Solved it by going to the "slide show" tab, al checking the "use timings" checkbox.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHi all, I have read all suggestions to have an automatic sheet transition after a video in a sheet. BUT they do not work in Microsoft 365. Tried quite some combinations..... anyone a suggestion for PowerPoint in Microsoft 365?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHi all, I tried this (and also other tips on other sites) but automatic advance to next sheet after a video does not work in my powerpoint of Microsoft 365. Does anyone has a solution?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenCan you share a presentation you made in Office 365 that has a video that does not transition automatically to the next slide? Share the link here so that we can have a look.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenManually advance to the next slide BEFORE to video ends completely. During the credits is a good time. Otherwise you have to escape out and start again at the next slide past the video.
