Play a hidden video with a trigger - PPT 2010 (1)

You can activate a video by clicking on any other object for instance a text box or an image. When the video is hidden you can decide yourself if you want to use it or not.
In this case let us assume the video will be played completely.
Here's a slide with added video, which you can play by clicking on the PPT logo, to do that you make use of a trigger.

You add the trigger by selecting the video and accessing the Animation ribbon, and clicking on the Trigger button in the Advanced animation group. You can choose any object on the slide to activate the video.

In the animation pane this looks like:

In the video options you check the following items:

The video will be played full screen, and start when you click on your trigger.

The only disadvantage to the procedure is that when the video is prematurely ended it will still be visible on the screen. But that problem can be avoided, in a next blog we will try to resolve that issue.
