Animate content of a table in PowerPoint 2003 (part 2)

Animate content of a table in PowerPoint 2003 (part 2)

There is no way to animate the contents of cells/rows/columns in PowerPoint directly.

The workaround in PowerPoint 2003 is to copy your table and paste it back as an enhanced metafile or windows metafile.
  1. Select the table and choose Copy on the home ribbon
  2. Paste it back using the¨Paste button (little arrow) on the Home tab, choosing Paste special.
  3. In the list of file types choose Enhanced metafile or Windows metafile.
  4. Select your pasted image, right-click and choose Edit picture or click on the Format tab under Picture tools, Align group, Group button, choose Ungroup.
In both cases a message will appear asking you if you want to convert the table to PPT-shapes. Click Yes. Most probably you will have to ungroup twice to get the individual objects.

Be aware that text will be split into individual boxes for each word in a cell.

Now select the shapes and regroup accordingly. Then animate the grouped objects to your satisfaction.
