It is always handy to have a printable copy of interesting articles. I have made Word documents containing all my blog articles over the years.
Some general articles or general announcements have been let out.
Every article has its own page, and there is a table of contents to get quickly at it. You will see the versions of PPT that can be used to perform a task. Of course some articles only apply to a particular version of PowerPoint.
This is the document for the year 2011.
When both videos have been formatted the way you want them we can start the animation.
On the Animation tab, click the button Animation pane in the Advanced animation group.
In the animation pane you will see the default setting in PPT 2010, play on click, which means you will have to click twice to start them playing together.
Let's change that so both videos start automatically without needing a click.
Just remove both animations from the pane. Then select the videos one by one and apply the following settings in the Animation tab Animation group.
For video 1, click in this order
For video 2, click in this order
That should give you the following settings in the animation pane.
Both videos will play simultaneously from now on without having to click.

It is perfectly possible to play two videos next to one another on a PPT slide.
Insert both videos on your slide and if necessary add a poster frame to them. Select your video, on the Format contextual tab, click the button Poster frame, you can choose between Image from file or Use current frame.
Below an example of a video with and without the Use current frame:
If necessary you can format the video using the Video Effects button on the Format contextual tab.
Here's a sample of a 3D rotation-effect:
Repeat the process for the second video.

Gratis add-in om uit een bestaande presentatie alle media bestanden en afbeeldingen te halen.
Het was tot en met versie 2007 mogelijk om een bestaande presentatie weg te schrijven als een HTML bestand. PPT maakte dan een folder aan waar alle media bestanden en afbeeldingen terug te vinden waren.
Helaas is deze mogelijkheid in PPT 2010 verdwenen. Gelukkig heeft John Wilson (MVP - PPT) voor ons een add-in klaargestoomd die dat alles voor ons automatiseert. De add-in creëert een folder op het bureaublad met alle bestanden die in de presentatie opgenomen zijn. Ook gelinkte bestanden en commentaar worden daarin opgenomen.

Free add-in to capture music, pictures and more from an existing presentation
Up to version PPT 2007 it was possible to save a presentation as HTML which would create a folder with all the used media and pictures in it. In PPT 2010 this is no longer possible.
Luckily for us John Wilson (PPT-MVP) has created a free add-in to help us with this chore.

Twee video's simultaan afspelen, deel 2 (PPT 2010)
Wanneer beide video's zijn opgemaakt zoals je dat wenst kan je ze animeren.
Selecteer het lint Animaties, klik op de knop Deelvenster animatie in de groep Geavanceerde animatie.
In het taakvenster zie je de standaardinstellingen, de video's worden afgespeeld wanneer je erop klikt. Als je ze dus allebei wil afspelen moet je twee keer klikken.
Dit gaan we aanpassen zodat de video's automatisch allebei starten zonder dat daar een klik voor nodig is.
We verwijderen beide animaties uit het deelvenster. Vervolgens selecteren wij de video's en doen in het lint Animaties de volgende instellingen.
Voor video 1, klik achtereenvolgens op:

Ziet er in het deelvenster zo uit:
Twee video's simultaan afspelen, deel 1
Het is perfect mogelijk om twee video's simultaan naast elkaar af te spelen op een PowerPoint dia.
Voeg beide video's in op je dia en zorg eventueel voor een aangepast posterkader. Met de video geselecteerd klik je in het lint Opmaak in de groep Aanpassen op de knop Posterkader. Je kan kiezen tussen een Afbeelding uit bestand, of je kan de video even laten lopen en kiezen voor Huidig kader.
Hieronder een voorbeeld van een video met en zonder de optie Huidig kader:
Indien nodig pas je video opmaakeffecten toe uit de groep Videostijlen.
Hieronder zie je een voorbeeld waar een 3D-effect werd toegepast:
Herhaal dit proces voor de tweede video die je op de dia wil tonen.
In een volgende bijdrage toon ik de instellingen om beide video's automatisch simultaan te laten afspelen wanneer je de dia bereikt.
