Combine clip art with a callout (1)

What if you have a picture on the one hand and a callout on the other hand and you want to combine both.

You can't combine a clip art with a shape, only shapes can be combined.

There is a way to do this, but first you will have to convert the clip art into a Microsoft drawing object.

Right click the picture and choose Edit picture, in the dialog that appears click Yes. Then ungroup it to see all the different parts (this step is not really necessary here as the silhouette and the tie can be selected separately quite easily).

Now deselect by clicking next to the picture. Select the silhouet of the man by clicking on it. Then shift+click the shape of the tie. Finally drag them away from the picture background which you can delete afterwards.

Now combine the two shapes using the Shape combine tool.

What's left from the clip art is a shape that we can combine with a call-out. This will be done in our next entry.
