Add connector points to a circle

If you want to use a connector point to a circle you are limited to 8 connector points.

Adding a connector point is vitually impossible. Right-clicking on the circle and choosing Edit points, and add point, deforms the circle completely.

Here's a workaround (thanks to Rich007a from the Microsoft Answers newsgroup):

1. Draw a 32 point star shape
2. Use the yellow diamond adjuster and drag to become a perfect circle.
3. Right-click the shape, choose Edit points
4. Right-click one of the black points and choose Straight segment
5. Now draw a connector line, all 32 points are available

Een tabel verplaatsen met het toetsenbord in PowerPoint 2010

Je kan een tabel gemakkelijk verplaatsen door gebruik te maken van je cursorpijltjes op het toetsenbord. De tabel gedraagt zich zoals verwacht en schuift in de gekozen richting.

Wanneer je de shift-toets combineert met de cursorpijltjes wordt de tabel in grotere sprongen verplaatst. Eigenaardig genoeg wel in de tegenovergestelde richting dan deze die je hebt gekozen.

De combinatie ctrl+shift+pijltjes doet hetzelfde maar in kleinere sprongen.

Move a table using the keyboard in PPT 2010

You can move a table by using your keyboard arrows up, down, right and left. And the table behaves as expected, you move in the chosen direction.

If you use the combination Shift+arrow, the table moves but with larger increments. And oddly you move the table in opposite direction, so using the left arrow moves the table to the right and vice versa.

You can also use the Ctrl+shift+arrow combination which does the same but in much smaller increments.

What's new in PowerPoint 2013-45 - New from existing

Microsoft has removed the option to create a new presentation based on an existing one.

In PowerPoint 2010 and previous when you chose File - New - there was an option to choose New from existing.

Yes, sort of, if your presentation is in the recent presentation list (File - Open - Recent) you can right click your file and choose Open a copy.

Wat is nieuw in PowerPoint 2013-46 - Nieuw van bestaande

Microsoft heeft de optie om een nieuwe presentatie te maken gebaseerd op een bestaande verwijderd.

Tot en met versie PPT 2010 kon je via Bestand - Nieuw - Nieuw van bestaande een kopie maken van je presentatie zonder daarbij de naam over te nemen.

Is er een alternatief? Ja, als je origineel bestand in de lijst met recente bestanden staat (Bestand - Openen - Recente bestanden) kan je er rechts op klikken en kiezen voor Kopie Openen.

Verbindingspunten toevoegen aan cirkel in PowerPoint 2010

Wanneer je een verbindingslijn wilt gebruiken naar een cirkel ben je beperkt tot 8 verbindingspunten.

Het toevoegen van een punt is uitermate moeilijk, ja zelfs bijna onmogelijk. Van zodra je rechts klikt op je vorm en kiest voor Punten bewerken en vervolgens voor Punt toevoegen vervormt de cirkel.

Hier is een omweg (met dank aan Rich007a uit de Engelstalige Microsoft Answers nieuwsgroep):

1. Teken een 32-puntige ster
2. Gebruik de gele bijstellingsgreep en sleep tot je een cirkel krijgt.
3. Rechtsklik op de vorm en kiezen voor Punten bewerken.
4. Rechtsklik op één van de zwarte bewerkingspunten, kiezen voor Rechte punt.
5. Verbindingslijn aanmaken, er zijn nu 64 verschillende verbindingspunten beschikbaar.

Nu kan je de vorm verplaatsen naar willekeur, het verbindingspunt blijft behouden.

What's new in PowerPoint 2013-44 - Selection pane

In PowerPoint you now can drag the entries using the mouse in the selection pane. No more extensive clicking the up and down arrows.

You can activate the Selection pane by going to:

1. Home tab - Edit group - Selection button - Selection pane
2. Home tab - Drawing group - Arrange button - Selection pane
3. Under Contextual tab Picture tools/Drawing tools... select the Format tab - Arrange button - Selection pane.

Wat is nieuw in PowerPoint 2013-43 - Taakvenster Selectie

In het selectievenster kan je nu de items verplaatsen door met de muis te slepen. Geen oeverloos geklik meer op de knopjes hoger of lager.

Om het taakvenster op te roepen kan je:

1. kiezen voor Start - groep Bewerken - knop Selecteren - Selectievenster
2. kiezen voor Start - groep Tekenen - knop Schikken - Selectievenster
3. kiezen onder Hulpmiddelen voor Tekenen/Afbeeldingen/Grafieken... voor Opmaak, groep Schikken, knop Selectievenster.

Everybody knows and uses the Format painter button on the Home tab. With this button you can copy the format of a shape once (click once) or several times (double click) to another shape.

Nevertheless, this button has one disadvantage. If you want to do something in between the paste action like typing or correcting text or creating a new shape the button gets deactivated.

PowerPoint has two functions that allow you to copy paste the formatting without losing the ability to do other things in between.

You can add these buttons to the QAT or add them to a new custom group you create on the ribbon.

Just do the following, go to File - Options - choose QAT - select all commands and copy the two buttons to your QAT.

Objectstijl kopiëren - Objectstijl plakken

Iedereen kent zonder twijfel de knop Opmaak kopiëren op het lint Start in de groep Klembord. Deze knop laat je toe opmaak één keer (enkelvoudige klik), of meerdere keren (dubbele klik) te kopiëren op andere objecten.

Het enige nadeel aan deze knop is dat je de bewerking van het plakken meteen moet uitvoeren, als je tussendoor iets anders wil doen, zoals een ander object creëren of een tekst intypen of aanpassen, gaat de opmaak verloren.

PowerPoint bevat twee functies die je toelaten van opmaak te kopiëren en te plakken terwijl er tussendoor andere functies kunnen worden toegepast.

De knoppen kunnen toegevoegd worden aan de werkbalk snelle toegang of aan een zelfgemaakt lint.
Daarvoor ga je naar Bestand - Opties.

Print sections in PowerPoint

In PowerPoint 2010, you can use Sections to organize slides in any manner you like.

You can also print a particular section.

If you have no clue how to create sections see my previous article: Sections in PowerPoint 2010.

Now, how should you proceed to print a section?

Go to File - Print and click Print all slides. That should reveal the sections (if any) at the bottom.

Select the one you want to print.

If you only want to print handouts, click the Full page slides option and choose the layout you need.

Secties printen in PowerPoint 2010

In PowerPoint kan je secties aanmaken, hoofdstukken als het ware, die je indien gewenst afzonderlijk kan printen als een soort van mini presentatie.

Hoe kan je nu individuele secties printen?

Kies het menu Bestand en vervolgens Afdrukken. Klik op de optie Alle dia's afdrukken. In het dialoogvenster zie je alle secties uit je presentatie opduiken.

Kies de sectie die je wil afprinten.

Wil je alleen hand-outs afdrukken van die sectie dan kan je via de knop Dia's op een volledige pagina kiezen voor hand-outs.
