How to delete an audio clip in Powerpoint file - PPT 2019-2024

Case 1 : The audio icon is visible on the slide

This is easy, just select the icon representing the audio and press Delete.

Case 2 : The audio icon is not visible on the slide - hidden 

If there is no icon visible that could be because it is hidden behind another object.

If that is the case look for it in the animation task pane or in the selection task pane.

In the animation pane you will recognize the audio with a blue play arrow next to it. The name of the audio file will help of course. 

If you click on it you will see the number of the animation lighting up on your slide, then press delete. 

You can also drag the object covering the icon away and delete the audio. 

If you select the audio in the selection pane the full icon including the audio bar will appear on the foreground. Press Delete.

Case 3: The audio icon is not visible on the side - outside drawing area

If you want to see the icon to delete it use the zoom slider in the bottom right corner of the screen. Reduce the zoom and the icon will appear. Select and press Delete.

Hoe kan ik een audio bestand verwijderen uit mijn presentatie - PPT 2019-2024

Geval 1 : Het audio bestand is zichtbaar op de dia

Dit is gemakkelijk, selecteer het audio bestand en druk Delete.

Geval 2 : Het audio bestand is niet direct zichtbaar op de dia

Als er geen audio icoontje zichtbaar is dan is het mogelijk dat het verborgen is onder een ander object.

Als dat het geval is kan je het object terugvinden in het animatiedeelvenster of in het selectievenster (Alt+F10).

In het animatiedeelvenster kan je het blauwe afspeelpijltje zien naast de naam van het bestand. Klik erop en je zal het nummer van de animatie zien oplichten op de dia, ook als het icoontje onder een ander object zit. Druk Delete om het te verwijderen.

Eens je de locatie weet kan je natuurlijk ook het object wegslepen en het audio icoontje verwijderen.

In het selectievenster klik je op het audiobestand, het volledige icoontje verschijnt op de voorgrond inclusief de mediabalk. Druk Delete om het bestand te verwijderen.

Geval 3 : Het audio bestand is niet direct zichtbaar op de dia omdat het zich bevindt buiten het diagebied.

Om het gebied rondom de dia te bekijken maak je gebruik van de zoombalk rechts onderaan het scherm. Ook hier selecteer je het icoontje en je drukt Delete.

Meerdere audiofragmenten afspelen op de achtergrond in PPT 2019-2021 (herwerkt)

Om een aantal geluidsfragmenten na elkaar af te spelen kan je gebruik maken van het gratis audio editeerprogramma Audacity.

Je kan op verschillende manieren tewerk gaan in Audacity, dit is hoe ik het aanpak om een aantal audiobestanden aan elkaar te hangen.

Start Audacity
Klik op Bestand en kies Importeren,  Audio, selecteer je clips (gebruik CTRL+klik voor meerdere bestanden) en klik Openen.

Beide muziekbestanden staan nu netjes onder elkaar.

Druk CTRL+A om alle bestanden te selecteren en ga nu naar Tracks en kies voor Tracks uitlijnen en vervolgens Einde op einde Uitlijnen.

Beide bestanden zijn nu uitgelijnd:

Ga ten slotte naar Bestand en kies Audio exporteren. 

Kies de juiste map en geef een nieuwe naam aan het bestand, klik onderaan eventueel op Metadata bewerken om extra info te bewaren. Klik op Toevoegen als je klaar bent en klik OK. 

Klik tenslotte op de knop Exporteren.

Wanneer je het nieuwe bestand opent in Audacity zie je dat de twee bestanden aan elkaar zijn gezet. Je kan nu het nieuwe audiobestand gebruiken in PPT als achtergrond voor je presentatie.

In earlier versions of PPT one could use a Windows Media Player playlist to use as background music for a presentation. Starting with version 2016 this is no longer possible. See my previous article:

Here's an alternative using the free audio editing app Audacity. There are several ways to do this in Audacity this is just what I use.

Start Audacity
Click File, Import and select your audio clips. Use ctrl+click to select several. Click Open.
Both clips are neatly arranged one below the other.

Press CTRL+A to select both clips and click Tracks and choose Align tracks and then Align End to End.

Both clips are now aligned.

 

Finally go to File again and choose Export, Export as MP3 or another format of your choice. Select the folder and give the file a new name. Click Save.

A warning dialog appears reminding you that both clips will be mixed and saved as one clip. Click OK.

Change the metadata if needed and click OK.

When you open the new file in Audacity you will see that both clips are now just one clip.

Now you can use the mixed clips as one clip in your PPT presentation.

Meerdere audiofragmenten combineren met Audacity en afspelen op de achtergrond in PPT 2019

In vorige versies van PPT kon je een afspeellijst van Windows Media Player gebruiken als achtergrondmuziek bij een presentatie. 

WMP (Windows Media Player) afspeellijst gebruiken in PPT 2013

Vanaf versie 2016 is dit blijkbaar niet meer mogelijk. Hier is een alternatief dat gebruik maakt van het gratis audio editeerprogramma Audacity.

Je kan op verschillende manieren tewerk gaan in Audacity, dit is hoe ik het aanpak om een aantal audiobestanden aan elkaar te hangen.

Start Audacity
Klik op Bestand en kies Importeren,  Audio, selecteer je clips (gebruik CTRL+klik voor meerdere bestanden) en klik Openen.

In mijn geval staan beide muziekbestanden nu netjes onder elkaar. 

Druk CTRL+A om alle bestanden te selecteren en ga nu naar Tracks en kies voor Tracks uitlijnen en vervolgens Einde op einde Uitlijnen.

Beide bestanden zijn nu uitgelijnd.

Ga ten slotte terug naar Bestand en kies Exporteren en vervolgens Exporteren als MP3 of een ander formaat. Kies de juiste map en geef een nieuwe naam aan het bestand, klik Opslaan. 

Een waarschuwing verschijnt dat de bestanden zullen geëxporteerd worden als één bestand. Klik OK.

Verander eventueel de metadata en klik OK.

Wanneer je het nieuwe bestand opent in Audacity zie je dat de twee bestanden aan elkaar zijn gezet.

Je kan nu het nieuwe audiobestand gebruiken in PPT als achtergrond voor je presentatie.

Play audio across slides in PPT 2016-2019

For PPT 2016-2019

Go to the first slide of your presentation.

Click the Insert tab.
Select the Audio button and choose Audio on my pc. 

Select the audio file by double clicking on it. The loudspeaker icon appears on your slide.

Under Audio tools the Playback tab is active. Click on the Play in background button in the Audio styles group.

Starting with version PPT 2016 the audio file is part of the click sequence. After clicking on the Play in background button the audio file will move to the top of the click sequence.

If you double click the audio file in the animation pane you will see that the audio will stop after 999 slides.

If you do not want to see the loudspeaker during the slide show, check the box Hide during show in the Audio options group of the Playback tab. Or you can drag the loudspeaker icon in the surrounding slide area.

In the same group you can see all the options you need to play the audio across several slides.

As an alternative you could set the whole thing here without ever needing the animation pane.

Stop an audio clip and start another by clicking on a trigger - PPT 2013

The idea is to (randomly) start each audio clip via a trigger and be able to click on another trigger to stop the previous audio from running.

Insert all the necessary audio using Insert - Audio - Audio on my PC. Replace the loudspeaker icon (if you want to) by right clicking the loudspeaker icon and choosing Change picture or click the Format tab under Audio tools and click Change picture icon. Browse using Bing to insert the picture.

Add the textboxes that will act as trigger to play the audio. You can give them an appropriate name by pressing Alt+F10 to activate the Selection task pane. Here I just choose the name of the song.

After inserting the audio clips the animation pane looks like this:

You can click the sound clip to play it. Clicking another will not stop the previous one. To change this we will add a trigger to each text box. Select the audio clip, Animation tab, Trigger button, next to On click of choose the name of the trigger (=name of the text box).

Repeat the process for the other audio clips.

In the animation pane the name of the trigger appears next to the title of the audio clip.

To stop each audio clip and start another we will have to add a stop animation to all the other audio clips.

Select the audio clip and click the Add animation button on the Animation tab. Select the Stop icon and drag the animation below the desired audio clip.

Next to the item Start in the Timings group choose with previous.

Repeat the process for the other clips.

Start your presentation and click a random trigger (text box), wait a few seconds then click another trigger (text box), the previous audio clip will stop. You can repeat the same operation several times on the same slide.

Combineren van audio met animaties via bladwijzers - PPT 2013

Je kan tijdens een audio fragment ook animaties afspelen. Daarvoor heb je bladwijzers nodig die je op de gewenste plaats instelt.

Klik in de afspeelbalk op de gewenste plaats. Klik onder Hulpmiddelen voor Video op het tabblad Afspelen, klik op de knop Bladwijzer toevoegen uit het tabblad Afspelen. Herhaal dat voor alle bladwijzers.

Hieronder zie je een voorbeeld van een audio fragment met 6 bladwijzers.

In onderstaande dia zullen een aantal foto's via de toegevoegde bladwijzers worden geanimeerd.

De foto's verschijnen op het gekozen tijdstip en verdwijnen wanneer een volgende foto met trigger via bladwijzer wordt geactiveerd.

Selecteer de foto en voeg een animatie toe, terwijl de animatie geselecteerd is klik je op de knop Trigger en je kiest voor Bij bladwijzer, vervolgens selecteer je de gepaste bladwijzer in de lijst.

Herhaal dit voor alle afbeeldingen. In onderstaand voorbeeld heb ik gekozen voor het verdwijnen van de foto wanneer de volgende verschijnt. Daarvoor voeg je voor iedere afbeelding een eindeffect toe dat je in het deelvenster animatie sleept onder de beginanimatie van de daaropvolgende foto, het effect laat je starten met het vorige.
