Blijkbaar is de mogelijkheid om een CD-nummer te gebruiken als muziek in een PowerPoint presentatie verdwenen in het lint. Als je klikt op de tab Invoegen - groep Media - Audio knop - dan staat de functie CD-nummer afspelen daar niet meer in.

Gelukkig kan je de functie nog toevoegen aan het lint of de werkbalk snelle toegang.

Menu Bestand - Opties - Werkbalk snelle toegang - Alle opdrachten - CD-nummer afspelen - Toevoegen.

Je krijgt er nog een apart tabblad bij om alles perfect in te stellen:

The possibility to use an CD-track seems to have disappeared in PPT 2010. If you go to Insert tab - Media group - Audio button - there is no CD-track in the list.

You can still use a CD-track if you add the feature to the QAT.

Go to File menu - Options - Quick Access toolbar - All commands - Play CD-audio track - Add.

Gebruik notitiepagina's als handouts in PPT 2007-2010

Een tijdje geleden vroeg iemand me of PowerPoint in staat was handouts te produceren die aan volgende voorwaarden voldoen. 1 dia per pagina en met een gelijnde zone onder de dia zodat nota's kunnen genomen worden.

PowerPoint kan handouts leveren onder de vorm van 1 dia per pagina, helaas krijg je geen zone om nota's te nemen. Het handout model kan daartoe niet geëditeerd worden. Gelukkig kan je dat omzeilen door in plaats daarvan notitiepagina's te gebruiken.

Dit is wat je moet doen:

1. Activeer het notitiemodel, tabblad Beeld, groep Modelweergaven, knop Notitiemodel.
2. Eerst sleep je de tijdelijke aanduiding voor de notities in de zone naast het model. Op deze manier verlies je je gewone sprekernotities niet die bij de dia's horen.
3. Pas de andere tijdelijke aanduidingen aan of verwijder ze indien nodig. Wil je nog meer plaats voor de nota's dan kan je gerust de tijdelijke aanduiding voor de dia naar boven verplaatsen. 
4. Activeer het raster, rechts klikken op het notitiemodel, kies voor Raster en hulplijnen.
5. Bij de rasterinstellingen kies je voor 1 cm, zet een kruisje bij Raster weergeven op het scherm.
6. Tabblad Invoegen, groep Illustraties, knop Vormen, rechts klikken op het lijn gereedschap en kiezen voor Tekenmodus vergrendelen.
7. Teken de gewenste lijnen en gebruik daarbij het raster. Selecteer alle lijnen en groepeer ze.
8. Sluit de notitieweergave.
9. Print de notitiespagina's, in 2007 klik je op Office-knop - Kies Afdrukken - onder Afdrukken kies je notitiepagina's. In PPT 2010 menu Bestand - Afdrukken - Kies onder Dia's voor Notitiepagina's.

Wil je alsnog je sprekernotities printen? Sleep de gegroepeerde lijnen naast het notitiemodel en sleep de tijdelijke aanduiding voor de notities terug op zijn plaats.

A while ago someone asked me if PPT could produce handouts, one slide a page, with lines underneath the slide to allow the user to write down notes during the slideshow.
PowerPoint can produce handouts with one slide a page but does not allow to take notes at the same time. You cannot edit the handouts master.
Fortunately you can get around it by using the notes pages instead.
Here's what you need to do:

1. Activate the notes master, View tab, Presentations views group, Notes master button.
2. First drag the notes placeholder off the master slide, this way you will not loose your speaker notes.
3. Adjust the slide thumbnail placeholder if need be. Remove the other placeholders if you do not need them. Move the placeholder to the top.
4. Now activate the grid, right click on the master slide and choose Grid and guides.
5. Set the grid to 1 cm and check Show grid box.
6. Insert tab, Illustrations group, click the Shapes button, right click the line tool and choose to block it.
7. Draw the lines one by one using the grid. Then select all the lines and group them together.
8. Close notes view.
9. Go to the print menu and print your notes pages.

If you need to print your speaker notes, just drag the grouped lines off the master and drag the notes placeholder back into place.

If you need to make slides out of a Word outline in PPT 2007 you have two choices.
Import the outline directly in PPT.

1. Home Ribbon - Slides group - New Slide button
2. Choose Slides from outline, at the bottom.
3. Select the Word document in question. Headings from the top level will start a new slide, headings from a lower level will deliver a bullet level under the main slide title.

Add the Send to button to the Quick Access toolbar In Word 2010.

1. Office button, choose Options for Word
2. Click Customize, under Select commands from, choose All commands.
3. Select the function Send to Microsoft Office PowerPoint
4. Click Add button, close
5. Now open your Word document, click on the added button, a new PPT presentation will be produced containing all the outline titles.

Als je in PPT 2007 een overzicht van meerdere niveaus uit Word wil omzetten in dia's kan je twee dingen doen.
Het overzicht rechtstreeks in PPT invoegen.

1. Lint Start - Groep Dia's - knop Nieuwe dia
2. Kies voor Dia's uit overzicht en selecteer het betrokken Word document. Titels van het eerste niveau leveren een nieuwe dia op, titels van een lager niveau komen in een opsomming onder de hoofdtitel van de dia.

In Word 2010 aan de Werkbalk snelle toegang de knop Verzenden naar Microsoft Office PowerPoint toevoegen.

1. Office-knop, kies voor knop Opties voor Word
2. Aanpassen, onder 'Kies opdrachten uit' selecteer je Alle opdrachten
3. Selecteer functie Verzenden naar Microsoft Office PowerPoint
4. Klik op Toevoegen
5. Open nu je Word document, klik op de toegevoegde knop en je hebt een nieuwe presentatie.

Waar is de animatie uitrekken gebleven in PPT 2010?

De algemene kwaliteit van de animaties is fel verbeterd in PPT 2010. Helaas zijn er ook een aantal effecten verdwenen, waaronder het ingangseffect uitrekken.

Om het effect uitrekken in PPT 2010 te bekomen zal je genoodzaakt zijn twee effecten te combineren.

Zo ga je tewerk:

1. Selecteer het object dat je wenst te animeren.
2. Selecteer het tabblad Animaties  op het lint en activeer het animatie taakvenster via de knop Deelvenster animatie in de groep Geavanceerde animatie.
3. Pas het ingangseffect In- en uitzoomen toe via de knop Animatie toevoegen (Meer effecten). 
4. Pas er vervolgens het animatieeffect Uitbreiden op toe, kies naast Start in de groep Tijdsinstellingen voor met vorige.
5. In het deelvenster animatie beweeg je met de cursor tot boven de tijdsaanduiding tot je een dubbele pijl ziet verschijnen. Sleep met die pijl tot de duurtijd overeenkomt met deze van de eerste animatie.

Niet helemaal identiek zoals in vorige versies maar toch een goed alternatief.

Although the quality of the animation effects has improved some effects seem to have disappeared from PPT 2010.

One of them is the stretch animation. To create the stretch animation in PPT 2010 you will have to combine two separate effects: Zoom and Expand.

Here's how you do it:

1. Select the object you want to animate.
2. On the animations tab activate the Animation pane by clicking on the button in the Advanced animation group. Apply the zoom entrance effect using the Add animation button in the Advanced animation group.
3. Reselect the object and apply the Expand animation, in the timing group format it to start with previous.
4. Now, in the Animation pane, move the cursor above the timing marker till you get a two way arrow, drag it to coincide with the duration of the first zoom animation.

That's it, comes close to what previous versions had to offer.

Microsoft heeft 20 nieuwe thema's toegevoegd aan de standaard meegeleverde thema's uit PPT 2007.
Ik heb mij altijd afgevraagd wie de namen verzint bij ontwerpsjablonen en thema's. Misschien is er bij Microsoft wel een interne wedstrijd om de beste namen te verzinnen?

In ieder geval, zoals altijd zitten er goede en (naar mijn mening) slechte ontwerpen in.

Microsoft added 20 new built-in themes to the ones already in place in PPT 2007.
I've always wondered on what grounds names are chosen to attribute to templates or themes. Maybe there is a contest in Microsoft where you can win a prize if your proposed name is chosen?

Anyhow, like always there are some good designed (in my opinion) themes and some poor designed ones.

Here are the names of the newcomers:
Adjacency, Angles, Apothecary, Austin, Black tie, Clarity, Composite, Couture, Elemental, Essential, Executive, Grid, Hardcover, Horizon, Newsprint, Perspective, Pushpin, Slipstream, Thatch, Waveform.

As an example, here are two, I'll leave you to decide which one I like and wich one I do not like?

Er is een nieuwe functie op het tabblad Invoegen op het lint die je nu toelaat van rechtstreeks vanuit PPT een volledige schermafbeelding of gEEN edeelte van een scherm in te voegen. Voor eenvoudige schermafbeeldingen is een extern programma dus niet meer vereist.

Je kan een schermafbeelding toevoegen van ieder openstaand venster. Alleen vensters die niet geminimaliseerd werden kunnen ingevoegd worden.

There is a new function on the Insert tab of the ribbon that comes in quite handy. It is now possible to insert a screenshot directly from PPT. No need for PrintScrn or external programs to capture a screen or part of a screen.

You can insert a screenshot of every open program window or select part of a window by using the screen clipping tool. Remember that only windows that have not been minimized can be captured.
