Move/enlarge a picture with a click, then return to original size and position using morphing - PPT 2019

One of my more popular articles on this blog discusses how to enlarge and move a picture then return to the original spot and dimensions. To do that one uses animation and animation triggers.

Starting with PPT 2016 you can do this without using any animation. Just use the new Morph transition.
Let us take the same example slide from my previous article.

The aim is to enlarge the three photos and then return to the previous position and size.

First duplicate the first slide 6 times, right-click the slide and choose Duplicate slide, then press F4 five times to repeat the last action.

On slide two move the picture and place it in the large green rectangle. Adjust the size so that it fits the rectangle. On slide three do the reverse, return to the original spot which is easy in this case as it is a copy of the first slide. So the picture is already in position.

On slide four move the second photo and adjust its size, on slide five move it again, which is easy in this case as it is a copy of the first slide. So the picture is already in position.

On slide six and seven we repeat the same procedure.

Finally as a last step select slide 2-7, go to the Transition tab and choose the Morph transition.

There are a few disadvantages to using Morph here. You need several slides to obtain the same effect. You can't alter the order in which the photos appear and you can't repeat the same transition several times.

On the other hand morphing is not that difficult to execute and it gives excellent results.

Create a banner in PPT 2019

Ever wanted to create a poster or a web-banner? You would not think of using PPT for such a task? You can though and it is quite easy.

Click the Design tab, Slide size button, choose Custom slide size option.

In the Slide size dialog click the drop-down list next to Slides sized for and choose the Banner option, finally click OK.

You can also choose Custom in the drop-down and determine the height and width of the slide yourself.

Adapting the slide size may have serious implications for objects already available on the slide so PPT proposes to adapt the scale so that no deformation will occur.
Click Maximize.

By default you will get the Title layout but you can choose any other layout if you want.

Create your banner using all possible tools in PPT.

Export the slide to a graphic file by saving the file and choosing the png, jpg option.

Click File - Save as - click the drop-down next to save as in the dialog and choose PNG Portable Network Graphics Format (*.png). When PPT asks what you want to export just choose Just this one.

Een banner maken in PPT 2019

Wanneer je een banner wilt maken voor je website denk je meestal aan het gebruik van programma's zoals Photoshop of Illustrator. Maar met PowerPoint kan je snel banners van zeer hoge kwaliteit maken. In dit artikel zal ik stap voor stap laten zien hoe je bannerafbeeldingen in PowerPoint kunt maken.

Kies het tabblad Ontwerpen en in de groep Aanpassen de knop Diagrootte. Selecteer Aangepaste diagrootte.

In het dialoogvenster diagrootte klik je op lijstpijltje naast diaformaat aanpassen aan en je kiest in de lijst voor Banner en klik OK.

Je kan ook kiezen voor Aangepast in de lijst en zelf de breedte en de hoogte bepalen (min 2,54 cm)

Aangezien het aanpassen van de diagrootte invloed kan hebben op de weergave van reeds aanwezige objecten vraagt PPT of je de inhoud wil aanpassen? Alhoewel ik hier nog niets heb toegevoegd kies ik toch voor maximaliseren.

Standaard krijg je de dia-indeling Titel, maar je kan natuurlijk een andere dia-indeling toepassen als je dat wenst.

Maak de banner verder op met alle hulpmiddelen in PPT.

Bewaar de banner als een apart bestand zodat je het overal kan gebruiken.

Doe dit via Bestand - Opslaan als - in de lijst kies je voor bestandtype png en klik op Opslaan. Meteen vraagt PPT welke dia's je wil exporteren, kies voor Alleen deze.

Goed nieuws Nasa heeft besloten haar archief van foto's, video's en audio beschikbaar te stellen voor het grote publiek.

Tot op vandaag zijn er 42.202 items beschikbaar, overvloed aan keuze.

Verschillende tekstvakken na elkaar animeren op dezelfde plaats via morphing in PPT 2019

In mijn vorig bijdrage heb ik een aantal tekstvakken na elkaar laten verschijnen via het toepassen van animatie. (Verschillende tekstvakken op dezelfde plaats animeren)

Vanaf PPT 2016 kan je dit ook realiseren zonder animatie te gebruiken. Je kan namelijk de nieuwe diaovergang Morphing toepassen. Ik ga uit van de situatie uit het vorige artikel.

Maak je eerste dia met de vier benodigde tekstvakken. Hou je nog niet bezig met het uitlijnen ervan dat doen we later.

Kopieer nu de dia drie keer. Klik daarvoor met de rechtermuisknop op de dia en kies uit het menu Dia dupliceren.

Herhaal dat proces voor de andere dia's (je kan ook de functietoets F4 gebruiken om de laatste actie te herhalen).

Verwijder nu de overbodige tekstvakken op iedere dia.

Selecteer op iedere dia het tekstvak en lijn het verticaal en horizontaal uit op de dia via het tabblad Vormindeling en de knop Uitlijnen.

Aangezien er voor de eerste dia geen overgang is ga je voor dia 1 toch animatie moeten toepassen. Je zou dit probleem kunnen vermijden door voor de betrokken dia's bv. een titeldia te voorzien.

Selecteer de titel en pas er de animatie vervagen op toe via het tabblad Animatie. Dubbelklik erop in het taakvenster animatie en stel de animatie van tekst in op Per woord/Per letter met een vertraging van 30 % tussen de woorden. In het lint bovenaan kies je naast Begin Met vorige en als duurtijd 3 seconden. Na het starten van de presentatie verschijnt de titel dus meteen.

Selecteer nu de overige drie dia's in het overzichtsvenster. Klik op het tabblad Overgangen en selecteer de overgang Morphing.

Klik nu op de knop Effectopties en kies de optie Tekens. Bij de duurtijd stel je net als bij de eerste dia 3 seconden in.

Start je presentatie, klik voor de overgang tussen iedere dia.

Animate several textboxes on the same spot using the Morph transition in PPT 2019

In my previous article  (Animate several text boxes on-same-spot) I discussed the animation of several text boxes on the same spot using animation.

Starting with PPT 2016 you can achieve this without using any animation. The new Morph transition will take care of this. I am using the same presentation as in my previous article.

Create your first slide with the four text boxes you need. Do not worry about the alignment we will do that later.

Copy the slide three times. Right-click the slide and choose Duplicate slide.

Repeat the process for the other slides (you can also use the F4 function key to repeat the last action).

Now delete the superfluous text boxes on the duplicate slides.

Select each text box on the slide and align it horizontally and vertically using the Arrange button on the Home tab. In the Position objects section select the Align option.

Considering that there is no transition for the first slide you will have to add animation. You could avoid this problem by adding a title slide so that the first newspaper title is no longer the first slide.

Select the text box and add the fade animation using the Animation tab. Double click the entry in the animation pane and on the effects tab provide a word by word animation with a delay of 30 % between words. Start with previous and a duration of 3 seconds. After starting the presentation the text box will automatically appear.

Select the remaining slides in the left hand pane and click the transition tab then choose Morph.

Click the Effect options button and choose Characters. Next to Duration increase to 3 seconds.

Start the presentation and click for every transition between the slides.

Verschillende tekstvakken animeren op dezelfde plaats in PPT 2019

Niet alle animatie effecten zijn geschikt voor wat we hier willen bereiken. De basis en subtiele effecten leveren het beste resultaat. Hier is het de bedoeling van de vier tekstvakken een na een te animeren in het midden van de dia.

Maak je tekstvakken aan en plaats ze voorlopig onder elkaar. Centreer ze allemaal ten opzichte van de dia via Hulpmiddelen voor tekenen, tabblad Opmaak, knop Uitlijnen, centreren.

Selecteer de tekstvakken en voeg er een beginanimatie aan toe. Bij start kies je na vorige behalve bij de eerste die met vorige wordt geanimeerd. Terwijl ze nog geselecteerd zijn stel je een vertraging in van 2 sec voor alle animaties. Stel eventueel een aangepaste duurtijd in. Hieronder heb ik de duurtijd van het effect vervagen ingesteld op 1 sec.

Selecteer alle tekstvakken opnieuw en voeg er nu een eindanimatie aan toe, bij start kies je voor met vorige behalve bij de laatste eindanimatie die na vorige start. Bij duur zet je dezelfde tijd in als bij de beginanimatie.

Sleep iedere eindanimatie onder de volgende beginanimatie.

Sleep in het animatiedeelvenster met het blokje naast de eindanimatie totdat deze precies onder de juiste beginanimatie staat.

Sleep ook de laatste verdwijnanimatie zo'n twee seconden verder.

Selecteer alle tekstvakken en laat ze in het midden uitlijnen op de dia via Hulpmiddelen voor tekenen, tabblad Opmaak, knop Uitlijnen, Midden uitlijnen.

Zo ziet de dia eruit:

Start je presentatie, alle tekstvakken verschijnen automatisch één na één op dezelfde plaats op de dia.

In de volgende video zie je het resultaat. Naast de animaties die in dit artikel zijn gebruikt zie je ook nog enkele mogelijke alternatieven.

Animate several text boxes on the same spot in PPT 2019

Not all the animation effects are suitable to obtain what we are after. The basic and subtle effects give the best result. In the example below we want to animate four newspaper titles to animate one after the other in the middle of the slide.

Create your text boxes and place them beneath one another but centered on the slide. Under Drawing tools, choose Format tab, Align button and Align center. Make sure that the Align to slide option is active.

Select all the text boxes and add an entrance effect. Next to start choose after previous with the exception of the first animation which starts with previous.
With the entrance animations still selected apply a delay of two seconds for all the animations, you can do that in the timing group next to Delay. If necessary adjust the duration which is half a second by default. In the example below I used the fade animation with a duration of 1 second and a delay of 2 seconds.

Reselect all of the textboxes and add an exit animation. Next to start choose with previous except for the last animation which starts after previous. Next to duration apply the same timing as in the entrance effect.

Drag each exit animation under the next entrance animation.

Now drag the exit animations in the animation pane till they are positioned parallel to the entrance effect.

Drag the last exit animation till you reach a delay of 2 seconds.

Select all of the text boxes and align in the middle relative to each other. Go to Drawing tools, Format tab, choose Align button, select Align middle.
